I have known and worked with Hima Pamoedjo for almost 20 years and have always been pleased with his work. As an illustrator, he is extremely talented. He is able to work in many styles and mediums, including traditional (such as ink, gouache, pencil) as well as digital Adobe Photoshop/ Illustrator generated art. No matter the medium, Hima always supplies exactly what I need. He is very good-natured and always happy to help anyone who needs it. He can accomplish an incredible amount of work in a ridiculously short amount of time. Hima often takes classes to keep up with the latest technology, which keeps him on the cutting edge of what’s new. There is nothing Hima can’t do.

Hima has been our one-man in-house illustration department for longer than anyone here remembers. He has transitioned easily from traditional to digital media and aggressively maintains a state-of-the art mastery of the latest illustration software, keeping abreast of industry developments and continually pushing himself to learn new skills and techniques, always willing to take direction and advice. His stylistic versatility makes him more than equal to any illustration need we can throw at him, from whimsical and child-friendly to highly detailed and technical illustration. I have had the pleasure to work with him especially closely the past several months on a music education program, where the challenges he has mastered have included highly detailed, technically accurate illustrations of a wide variety of musical instruments, both western classical and multicultural, which need to be so finely rendered as to be legible at a variety of sizes, from tiny spots to half-page. Believe me, it is no mean feat to draw a bassoon with every valve and key in place — and I don’t know anyone who could do it in one try but Hima!
